TOPCON CV-5000 and Optomap
The TOPCON CV-5000 is an automatic visual acuity tester. When you look through the automatic refractors, the machine rapidly switches through various prescriptions in order to determine your refractive error.
The Optomap is designed to take highly detailed images of the back of your eye and display them on a computer screen in order to diagnose damage to your optic nerve, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy as well as other disorders of the back of the eye.
Contact Lens Exams
Contact lens exams are designed to test your eyes for refractive errors and measure your cornea in order to properly fit you with contact lenses. These exams typically include two appointments. The first appointment measures your refractive error and your cornea in order to order your new contacts. The second exam is designed to ensure that your new lenses fit and provide you with the vision correction you need. We offer soft, gas permeable and toric lenses as well as hard-to-fit contacts and Ortho-k.
Hard-to-fit contacts are special lenses that are designed to fit severely irregularly shaped corneas. Common types of hard-to-fit contacts include scleral lenses, hybrid lenses and hard contacts.
Ortho-k lenses are hard contacts that are worn in your eyes at night. While you sleep, the lenses gently reshape your corneas so that you do not have to wear glasses or contacts during the day.
